Indigo Moon Artist presents ‘Pulling out the Splinters’:  Workshop Series 

Astrologically Informed 13 week workshop with crystals, yoga, dance, writing, art, emotion code, oracle insight, akashic records, astronomy, connection to nature and more! The vision of this weekly workshop is an astrologically-inspired reconnection to self, truth, passion, depth, feeling, earth, the cosmos, breath and beyond.

This workshop series is open to queer folx, non-binary and trans folx, and femmes of all genders. The workshop is sliding scale, with more information about that below. 

This one of a kind workshop series will meet through Zoom once a week

on Saturdays from 6-8pm eastern.March 13 through June 5, 2021.

Each week we will meet in our intimate container of folks and I will talk about upcoming astrological transits, and how to honor different parts of your physical, mental and emotional body. There will be daily homework that will build upon itself through the week. 

Some such homework will be connecting with nature, journaling, honoring a specific body area, intentionally cooking, and beyond. 

The workshop idea, “Pulling out the Splinters’ came to me in March of 2020, right as the Pandemic began. I knew i wanted to create an alchemical ‘Mystery School’ of sorts, but the timing wasn’t right. The name and idea kept coming to me, and each New Moon since, I have spent time journaling more details of this project. The name came from a journal entry I made in 2015 in which I described the dislodging debris before  it became stuck and scarred. 

Throughout 2020, I have witnessed in myself, my loved ones and the collective, emotions getting stuck. We each have been sign through a traumatic experience, and this workshop series is an opportunity to move through some stagnant energy- pulling out the splinters before they get stuck. We will do this through yoga, astrology, emotion code and beyond! 

Each week we will meet in our zoom container to discuss what we experienced, connect and ask questions. This is a great way for you to learn about, and more deeply embody your natal chart!

7 of the 13 weeks we will have guest facilitators who will share their wisdoms with us. Each one of the people who is presenting, is someone I have had an honor to work with in their field. Each one of the guest workshops were set with the intention of us connecting deeper to our individual healing, and collective healing. The list of facilitator’s bios, and the weeks they will be teaching is below. 

In addition to the weekly Zoom calls, each participant will also receive an hour-long natal chart reading and hand drawn birth chart by me. This one-on-one session is a great time to ask me personal questions about your chart. It will also provide more insight on why some transits may impact you more than other transits. 

I look forward to being on this journey with you. I look forward to doing my personal work to tend to my wounds. And I look froward to witnessing you do your personal work which ripples into community care.

xander: Indigo Moon Artist

xander is a queer, non-binary-trans, fat, femme, artist and astrologer. Ze grew-up in a valley full of fireflies under a tangibly visible Milky Way Galaxy. A keen observer of sunrises & moonsets, moonrises & sunsets, ze has always been drawn to observe the Cosmos. 

A triple water sign, Indigo Moon-witch, xander feels deeply, and translates those feelings, visions & sensations into astrological readings, performances, workshops, and guided meditations. 

xander is an intuitive astrologer who blends modern and traditional Hellenistic techniques from a Tropical zodiac lens, using whole sign house system. Dee: Creative Akashic

Dee is a white gender nonconforming writer, educator, and student. Their work is centered in the non-binary experience, interconnectedness, and play. Their plays have been developed with The New Group, Rattlestick, Capital Stage, and more. They currently teach groups and work with clients to help remove binary thinking. They read the Akashic Records to leave binary thinking and see clients virtually from their home in a place named Pasadena, occupied Tongva territory. Nia and Ness
Nia & Ness are a Black, out-lesbian couple and performance-art duo, whose work serves as a visual-auditory diary of their daily lives. They believe that it’s necessary for their specific stories, as Black lesbian women, to be shared, and it is their responsibility to share them. Since officially starting their company in 2016, their work and love have transformed into something greater than the art and lives they initially dreamed of. They’ve toured two evening-length works, given speeches about their activism and shared their love at universities, colleges, conferences, festivals, churches, parks, bars and homes nationwide, and have been featured on multiple radio, tv and written news outlets. Taking their work beyond performances, they’ve recently launched their podcast, Reclaiming Love with Nia & Ness on Spotify, iTunes and iHeartRadio.

Avery

Avery Kalapa is a Certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher (CIYT), eRYT500, BFA, who has been practicing for 20 years, and teaching since 2004. Avery's practice and teaching is rooted in anti-oppression, and they invite participants to engage with yoga for inner healing towards collective liberation. They cherish anti assimilation and love creating space for impactful inner transformation for queers, outsiders, change makers, and beloved community too often left out of mainstream yoga. 

Celebrated for their somatic precision, enthusiasm, accessibility, commitment to spirituality, and depth of technique, their teaching reflects their reverence and gratitude for the profound lineage of Iyengar Yoga. 

Avery has travelled around the US and to India to study yoga, and accumulated thousands of hours of training. 

They teach magical retreats, workshops, classes, and private sessions, and are involved in  various yoga equity projects including Albquerque Queer Trans Community Yoga. They are also a devotional creative, organic gardener, community organizer, and parent to 2 amazing kids. elliot

Elliot (they/them) is a Jewish, queer, non-binary fibers artist, dream weaver, and fire tender.  Inspired by the Blue Ridge Mountains that surround their home, they practice building relationships to the Sacred Elementals by creating stone grids upon the Earth, singing songs of gratitude to the constellation of ancestor trees, and offering rose petals to the garnet rich water ways. 

They have studied stone energy healing with Sarah Thomas of ‘Upper Clarity Stone Medicine’ since 2016. They have taken the Shamanic Priestess Mentorship with ‘Temple of Earth and Sky’, and have apprenticed with ‘Root Deep Dwelling School’.

Natalie: Tending Your Spirit

Natalie was 12-years-old when her healing journey started to take off.  During that time, the structure of her life was dramatically changing and she was struggling.  She was first introduced to energy healing through Reiki practitioners and curanderos from Mexico at that time.  She also started seeing  a school therapist to learn skills for coping through the pain.  It was the combination of those experiences that informed the way she started to see the world.  Over the past 20 years, she has learned a lot from various healers and teachers from different lineages around the world.  She completed her Reiki Master certification in 2014 in the White Light Reiki lineage. Natalie graduated with her Bachelors in Psychology in 2008 and after spending 6 years working in the corporate world, she decided to pursue a Master’s in Psychology.  She was specifically looking for the ways in which Psychology and Spirituality intersect and integrate.  This led her to pursue her Master’s at the California Institute of Integral Studies where she completed her degree in Integral Counseling Psychology in 2017.  She completed her certification for The Emotion Code® in March, 2019.

Over the past ten years Natalie has directed a lot of her attention towards ancestral healing.  She started to notice unhealthy behavioral patterns that were occurring throughout her family lineages.  Her curiosity led her to wonder about the possible traumatic experiences that could have occurred in the past that would have create those core ancestral wounds.  Through learning the stories of her ancestors, she has gained a better understanding of the pathway to healing those wounds.  Storytelling is so powerful in that way.  Driven by the desire to heal these core wounds so that future generations would not be burdened is what continues to inspire her to actively participate in her personal healing.

While pursuing her Master’s degree, Natalie lived in Northern California.  During her time in the Bay Area, Natalie started connect with and learn from a few indigenous & spiritual teachers who expanded her knowledge about Spirit, Ceremony and Life.  One of these teachers is Liv Mokai Wheeler, who is an International Ritual facilitator and Kontomble Voice Diviner.  Liv taught her the importance of ritual and making offerings to her ancestors and the Otherworld.  Liv and Kontomble helped Natalie gain more clarity on how to share her innate gifts with the world.  

Looking back, Natalie realizes that while she was going to graduate school she was simultaneously being guided by Spirit to study in the School of Life to strengthen her relationship with the Otherworld.  As a result, she has learned a lot about ancestral healing rituals, healing in community, different energy clearing techniques, tending to Spirit by making offerings and being in reciprocity with nature and the Spirit world and many other skills that are needed at this time.  She has had the opportunity to support Liv and the communities that she works with by bringing in her experience with clearing interpersonal ruptures between group members in ritual clearing circles along with holding space in a fiercely heart-centered way.  Liv introduced her to The Emotion Code® and Natalie found that it is an energy healing modality that integrates all of the different healing modalities she has learned thus far. She loves how accessible it is for people to practice on their own and also seek support from practitioners.  The Emotion Code® is an energy healing modality discovered and taught by Dr. Bradley Nelson.  Inspired by the healing she experienced through The Emotion Code®, she obtained her certification and is now a certified practitioner.  She sees herself as a student of Life and Spirit and will continue to learn from the teachers who will continue to cross her path.

Verone Bright (they/them) is an Oracle, acupuncturist, artist, magician and witch-occultist.
